Wildlife walks – from January 2017
Sustrans and the Loop’s wildlife champions have prepared a schedule of guided walks on the fourth Sunday of each month, 10.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m., beginning in January with birds, February winter trees, March signs of spring, and so on. Please see here for the full schedule!
Sunday 19 February 2017, from 10 a.m. – Willow work at Levenshulme Quadrants
Today we’ll be doing some work at Levenshulme Quadrants community orchard (Crayfield Road) including, we hope, building two willow arches. As in previous years, the Sale and Altrincham Conservation Volunteers will be joining us to lend a hand. We expect to be there from 10 a.m. to about 3 p.m. Please come along if you would like to help, or just for a chat and a look at what’s happening! Incredible Edible Levenshulme will also be working on their raised beds of herbs and fruit, and we will also be doing a bit of weeding round the orchard trees and our own herb bed. Tools such as small hand forks and secateurs or shears would be useful if you intend to help.
Please feel free to contact us if you need further information, by phone Dick on 0161 224 3843.
